Abstract
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have become efficient tools for the management of virtually all facets of the national economy, transcending every industry and service. The purpose of this study is to determine how ICT can enhance Nigerian Security Management and National Development. The study adopted the survey research design of the ex-post ‘facto type’. The Proportional stratified and simple random sampling techniques were utilized to select 300 participants from three States - Ogun, Ondo and Lagos States in Nigeria. One standardized self-developed questionnaire was used for data generation. Two hypotheses were raised and tested using multiple regression and t-test statistics. Findings revealed among others that the ICT predicted the criterion variables (security management and national development). Based on the findings of this study, it was concluded that if ICT is used appropriately, it has the potential to vastly improve Nigeria security management and national development.
