Professional Ethics: The Mode of Dressing of the Professional Secretaries in Educational Institutions.

Abstract

Abstract The paper examines the mode of dressing of secretaries in Educational Institutions. In doing this, the paper discusses the definitions and functions of the secretary. It regards the secretary as an image-maker and considers mode of dressing as a paramount quality of secretaries. It discusses the types of dress that befit the secretary. It attempts to determine whether the mode of dressing of Secretaries in Educational Institutions is normal or abnormal using Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro as a case study. The study reveals that the dressing of a secretary is often normal, though it is abnormal occasionally. The paper therefore concludes that the secretary often gives a good image but does otherwise occasionally. The paper therefore recommends adequate awareness and continuous education on dress code for practicing secretaries and the inclusion of dressing ethics in the training curricula of secretaries.
