| dc.description.abstract | The emergence of e-commerce in Nigeria has introduced significant security challenges alongside its technological benefits. As internet adoption grows, the protection of networks and computer systems has become a critical concern for crime prevention. A secure e-commerce environment must go beyond basic privacy, ensuring that sensitive data is protected from both unauthorized misuse and malicious destruction. This paper argues that comprehensive security measures are a fundamental prerequisite for any organization initiating electronic commerce (e-commerce) activities. It explores the complexities of inherent system vulnerabilities and provides insight into the implications of security breaches within the Nigerian digital landscape. By prioritizing a "security-first" approach, companies can better navigate the risks associated with online transactions and ensure long-term operational resilience. | |
